Empowering Our Leadership: Sharafat Karim Explores the Future of Climate Finance

We are proud to announce that Sharafat Karim, Co-founder of Cedar Initiative, successfully participated in the “Climate Finance Fundamentals for Youth: Bangladesh Context” training held at the Bangladesh Public Administration Training Centre (BPATC).

The intensive four-day program, organized by the Economic Relations Division (ERD) and Practical Action, brought together a select cohort of youth leaders and government officials. The training bridged the gap between global climate policy—such as the UNFCCC and Paris Agreement—and local implementation through Bangladesh’s National Adaptation Plan (NAP) 2023–2050.

Climate finance is the engine that will drive Bangladesh’s resilient future,” said Sharafat Karim. “Understanding the mechanisms behind the Green Climate Fund (GCF) and the Loss and Damage Fund allows Cedar Initiative to better align our grassroots efforts with national and global priorities.”

Through this engagement, Cedar Initiative reaffirms its commitment to being at the forefront of climate advocacy and youth-led solutions in Bangladesh.
